Hi, I’m Roy—originally from Newport News, Virginia, now calling Grenada home thanks to my wife, whose roots trace back to Grenada, St. Lucia, and Panama. What brought me here was love, but what keeps me here is the peace, culture, and pace of life that make this island feel like the right place to create and grow.

I picked up photography at a young age—my first camera phone made me the go-to cameraman among my friends because I was the only one who could keep the footage steady during our adventures. Over time, that hobby turned into a passion, and now it’s my way of connecting with people and telling stories.

I’d describe myself as an introverted extrovert—I show more than I tell. I got my eye for detail from my mom, who had all eight of us kids rearranging furniture every time she brought home something new. My drive? That comes from my dad, who’s still performing at parties and lounges well into his 80s.

Back in high school, I imagined saving lives with a camera—as a photojournalist capturing truth in conflict zones. But I chose a different path: telling stories through the beauty of everyday life, and the joy of living in the world God created. Grenada gives me the space to slow down and reimagine history—not with urgency, but with purpose.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me on the basketball court, playing sports, or in the ocean—something that once scared me but now brings peace.
